It’s my fifth consecutive year to host the best outdoor Dog show in London. Yes, you and your two or four-legged family members are invited to the Battersea Annual Reunion and Fun Day on Sunday 6 September 2015 in Battersea Park, London….that’s this weekend!!

You know I adore presenting all the shows and classes at Battersea, last year we had record breaking numbers can we break the 500 people who attended in total last year? Will the sun be shining? Will it be warmer that 20°C? SO many questions but all will be revealed on the day….the forecast is great and there’s been lots of interest from far and wide in this fantastic annual event.

I’ll be there from 10 am, but the Fun Day kicks off from from 11am until 4.30pm. It’s a free event that offers a whole host of family fun including dog classes and trick displays. You’ll get the chance to show off your Staffies and maybe even spot a Battersea-supporting celebrity or two. There will also be plenty of stalls to browse and tasty snacks to feast upon.

The event is open to all dog lovers, not just those who have rehomed a Battersea dog. Visitors can enter their canine companions into a range of competitions including Golden Oldie, Handsomest Dog and the hotly contested Best Battersea Dog.

All the money raised from the event will go towards caring for the thousands of lost, abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats who come into our three centres every year.

Dog classes

Classes are open to all dogs of every shape and size, and there is no limit as to how many dogs you can enter – as long as that class isn’t full. Each class is £2 per dog. In the main ring, we have a maximum of 150 entrants per class.

I’ll be hosting a couple of new classes, including the ‘Obedience Elimination’ (chance to show off how well your dog responds to your demands) and ‘New Kid on the block’ (for dogs under 1 year old). There will be three rehoming parades, where we try and match some long-staying dogs to potential owners. Last year we had huge success with this and got all dogs rehomed….we need to equal this!!

So here’s how the day will run….

11.00-11.45 – Tricks display
11.45-12.00 – Rehoming parade
12.00-12.30 – Waggiest tail
12.30-13.00 – Obedience elimination
13.00-13.30 – Golden oldie
13.30-13.45 – Rehoming parade
13.45-14.15 – New kid on the block
14.15-14.45 – Dog the judges would like to take home
14.45-15.00 – Rehoming parade
15.00-15.30 – Loveliest lady
15.30-16.00 – Most fabulous fella
16.00-16.30 – Best Battersea dog

What? No ‘Dog that looks most like their owner/celebrity’ category?!! I know….well spotted…

I look forward to seeing you there (oooh and I’ll be filmed as well by my cameraman James Gray)!!
